Your Unit 8 Project Title
“This is London”
Pathway (Preferred Media Production ‘specialism’):
qqw23Flm, Graphics/Photoshop, Animation, Photography, Audio, Interactive/web, Publishing. You should choose two
My preferred specialisms for Unit 8:

For my final Project for this unit, “This is London”, I’ve chosen to create a poster in Photoshop. I’ve chosen to do a poster for this unit as I previously created an animation for the last project so I wanted to do something different for this unit. I’ve learnt many new skills in Photoshop that’ll help me create the poster.

Section 1: Project Rationale (approx. 150 words)
Since starting the course in September, Assess what you know more about now – things like context, audience and the technical skills you have gained. How can you use this knowledge, and what does it mean to you, (compared with what you knew and could do before you started the course). How does what you know now influence your choice of pathway/specialism and your project proposal.

Since I started this new course, I learnt many new skills and techniques on different programs. These include Photoshop, InDesign, Audition, Adobe Premiere and more. I also learnt things about the audience and the different types analysed packaging and watched adverts to help us make ours. My knowledge of audience could help me have an understanding of their tastes and how they would want to see my product. These new skills I've learnt could also help with my posters as I plan to incorporate the new skills I've learnt during the creation process.

Section 2 Project Concept: (approx. 200 words)
Clearly explain the idea and the aims of your Unit 8 project and the context, research and ideas that will support its development. What are the London based historical, economic, social, mass media, cultural, political influences that you could use?  What is it you want to communicate and who is your specific audience? What access will you need to studios and equipment, how will you use your time to develop work independently and outside College?

My idea for the new project is to create a poster of the many attractions in London. I plan to have 5 separate posters for each attraction which all of them being similar in typography and the position of the heading. For this, I’ll have to research different tourist attractions in London. The five I'm doing will be top five best in London.  I’ve chosen my audience for this to be young tourists who want to visit London and its most iconic attractions. I want to communicate to my specific audience on what the best places in London are and additional information they'd what to know about the said places. I will need to access a camera from the school to take pictures during my trip to the art museum.  I will be using my time outside the college to work gather more primary and secondary research for my project.

Section 3 Evaluation and Reflection: (Approx. 100 words)
Explain how you will reflect upon, and evaluate your work, as both an on-going activity and at the conclusion of the project. You should describe how you intend to record your decision making and how you will document changes to your ideas as work progresses.  The evaluation should be referred back to your aims. It must be reflective (‘why? Because?’) And analytical rather than a description of actions completed.

By the end of this project, I will create an evaluation, going back on everything I've done and also give an explanation of how I've done it, what well when, what didn't go well and what I could've done next time. My work will mostly be reflected though the different areas of my blog, e.g reflection for research, reflection for experimentation.

Section 4: Research Sources and Bibliography
Record the initial research sources, both primary and secondary, that you could use or intend to use.  Your sources of research should be as wide as possible, including trips, libraries, museums, galleries, journalism, articles, media, galleries, books, film/video, magazines, looking at TV/radio programmers, websites etc.

My research will be gathered through trips such as our recent trip to the London museum and also research from different websites and ads.

My Mood Board

This is the Moodboard I created for my My Mood Board. The images I put on each of these photos are well known London attractions that I plan to include in my posters. The colours shown of the mood board are colours I collected from each of the London photos using the eye-dropper tool on Photoshop. These are the colours that I could be included in each of the posters. Lastly, I typed out different types of fonts in the colours boxes. The fonts I have are mostly smart looking ones with some of them bold. Since my Target Audience are young adults, I wanted to use more formal and smart colours to appeal more to my audience.

1
Good Afternoon everyone, today I’ll be explaining to you all what I’ll be doing for my final mayor project.
2
For my final mayor project for this unit, I have decided to create a poster of the top 5 attractions in London. From doing research, the attractions I’ve chosen will be the big ben, the London eye, the London bridge, Trafalgar square and the British museum.
3
I have chosen to create and edit the posters on photoshop as I believe that’s where my product will be at in best. I will also be transferring the new skills I’ve learnt this year on photoshop when I create this.
4
I’m going to be gathering research of the different attractions I’ll using my poster and will be used as additional text.

5

If I struggle or things do not go as planned on Photoshop however, I plan to switch to Adobe illustrator but only depending on how much time I have.
6

I am going to be taking pictures of the London attractions I’ll be using for my posters as my primary research. These pictures I’ll be taking will be incorporated into Photoshop to edit.

7
My product is aimed at young adults and tourists who are looking to explore the best attractions in London. I will also be provided information from my research for my audience.

8
I plan to make all posters have the same typography, style and have a similar look to them to help make the style more distinctive.
9
As I go along my work, I plan to add information about the progress I’ve been making on my reflective journal.
10
Thank you listening.

My Pecha Kucha

This is the power point I created for my final mayor project. During this presentation, I explained what  in each slide what I plan on doing during my FMP, including what program, I'll be using, the areas of london I will be making posters of and what'll where I'll put my work when It's complete. I also included information on who my target audience is, the places I will be taking pictures of and also the research I took. When I finished I was aked questions and then written feedback which I have included in my Planning.
